Exciting new workshop here at Abbeymount, with resident @byjenbyrne and @omhla.scot. 📢

🌟 A delicious combination of sustainable sewing and locally sourced food🍴

🧵 All materials will be provided so that you can make your unique apron and what's more we'll also be treated to a luxurious zero waste lunch prepared by @comhla.scot, the menu for which is utterly mouth watering.

🍴 Over lunch, Còmhla's head chef will tell us a bit about themselves along with their top tips for cooking sustainably and you'll also get recipe cards to take home.

A really special event not to be missed!

➡️ She uses analogue techniques of screen-printing on cloth and paper with embroidery and appliqué.

➡️ Her recent works include decorative graphics on textiles, soft 3D objects and large scale quilts.

➡️ She takes her inspiration from observations of everyday life combined with reflections of the inner self.

🌟 She has exhibited at @the_rsw_ winter exhibition, and was twice a finalist in London’s National Portrait Gallery Portrait Award.

🌟 The second and third images show Robin painting “Forsythia in Bloom” a very large complex painting which won the Mary May Marshall Award at @the_rsw_ annual exhibition in 2023.

What an incredible weekend with over 30 artists showcasing their work, and over 800 people finding out what a talented bunch we have at Abbeymount!

Also a big shout out to the artists and makers who took time out to show their work and spend time chatting to new and old friends - they really enjoyed being able to share their work with you!

Abbeymount resident @francesprieststudio is contributing some of her new work to the 20th edition of Collect with @cavalierofinn at @somersethouse. 🥳

The work on show will be an evolution of her explorations into the value and meaning of ornament, pattern, colour, making and material.
