If you are a beginner, our weekly classes will introduce you to the skills used in jewellery making and enable you to make your own piece of jewellery with confidence. During each block we teach you new skills whilst refining your acquired ones. Teaching will involve practical demonstrations and one to one guidance which will enable each student to develop their own projects and create their own unique piece of jewellery. Some of the beginner skills you will be introduced to a variety of techniques which will enable you to create your unique piece of jewellery.

Annealing and pickling
Soldering
Sawing and Filing
Roll Printing
Piercing
Patination
Twisting Wire
Creating textures on sheet metal
Making your own findings
Making a chain
Cold connections (riveting)

As your skills advance and you attend additional classes you will be introduced to:

Enamelling (using vitreous enamel including scraffito, stencilling, plique a jour, basse taille)

Enamelling (using liquid enamel)

Keum Boo
Granulation
Stone setting (bezel, tube and flush)

Making a ring
Photo etching
Etching using various stop out materials
Patination
Creating catches and lockets

Tutors:

Our classes are small with a maximum of 8 students to ensure you receive excellent tuition. Classes included one to one guidance, demonstrations and skills development for your jewellery design project. Our team of educators are all professional trained, qualified  and practising and exhibiting designers. As your tutor they will guide you through a range of skills and techniques suited to your abilities and ambitions.

Dates and Times:

Classes take place either during the day on a Wednesday, Thursday or Saturday 10am to 1pm or in the evening on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 6-9pm.

Spring Dates:

  • Saturday 20th April to 22nd June 10am to 1pm
  • Monday 22nd April to 24th June 6pm to 9pm
  • Tuesday 23rd April to 25th June 6pm to 9pm
  • Wednesday 24th April to 26th June   10am to 1pm or 6pm to 9pm
  • Thursday 25th April to 27th June 10am to 1pm or 6pm to 9pm

Fees and booking:

Our course fees are £240 for the course. This includes copper materials, tools and a cup of tea!
