Textiles Printing Level 1
This 8 week course is ideal for those who have a special interest in fabric printing and would like to take this interest further by learning the varying techniques of screen printing on fabric using a variety of fabric, dyes and inks to achieve different effects and finishes, i.e. pigment, devore, discharge, illuminated discharge. This course also includes an introduction to creating repeat patterns and an overview of the basics of screen and fabric preparation, so will suit any skill and experience level.
Materials: Although printing inks and some materials are included in the course fee, if you wish to work within a particular colour palette the tutor will advise where you can purchase your inks. Students will be required to bring with them;
- Drawing pens & pencil
- Any image references they’d like to work on
- Their own fabric to test with (only if they have anything specific in mind to want to try and test, or a specific project in mind)
- Wellies (optional, to keep the feet dry while washing out)
Course Level: Level 1. This course includes an introduction to creating repeat patterns and an overview of the basics for screen and fabric preparation, so will suit any skill and experience level.
This is a time for play & experimentation, with the help of an experienced tutor on hand to ask questions through tutored/ supervised studio time, while getting real-time experience of what it’s like to create in a printing studio.
